Welcome to Schools Beyond Screens - Upper Arlington

We are a coalition of parents and educators advocating for school technology policies grounded in independent research, public accountability and developmentally-appropriate practice.

About Us

School Beyond Screens Upper Arlington is a group of UA School District parents, caregivers, and educators with a shared vision for tech in our schools that includes a data-driven, intentional, age-appropriate approach to technology in the classroom. Our goal is to advocate for a school district that embraces responsible technology use, centers on children's cognitive and social-emotional development, and ensures that any technology adopted serves kids first, with benefits that are clear and evidence based.

What We Want

We are calling for UA School District to review existing tech products and policies, block harmful and non-educational distractions, require independent standards for efficacy, create real opt-out pathways, and involve parents, teachers, and students in setting the rules. We support technology that is intentional, limited, transparent, and genuinely useful—not technology adopted by default.

What We Believe

Children should come first in their own education, ahead of corporate interests and market trends.

Technology should facilitate learning, not inhibit it.

Technology should support teachers, not sideline them.

Technology should serve schools, not extract from them.
