What We Want
We are calling for Harford County School District to review existing tech products and policies, block harmful and non-educational distractions, require independent standards for efficacy, create real opt-out pathways, and involve parents, teachers, and students in setting the rules. We support technology that is intentional, limited, transparent, and genuinely useful—not technology adopted by default.
About Us
Founded by LAUSD parents and teachers, Schools Beyond Screens has now grown nationwide to 200+ school districts in 33 states. As the Harford County Chapter, we advocate for intentional classroom technology that is student-centered, and push for school policies grounded in evidence-based guidelines, independent research, public accountability, and developmentally-appropriate practice.

Harford County school board trustees need to listen to our voices. They need to know that their communities are paying attention and expect them to take action on screen time policies. They do not need to wait for federal standards or state guidance; they have the power to act right now.
